OPM Problems
The São Paulo state olympiad, first held in 1977 on the initiative of the physicist Shigueo Watanabe and the Academia de Ciências do Estado de São Paulo, two years before the national OBM. It is set at three levels: Alfa for the 6th and 7th grades, Beta for the 8th and 9th, and Gama for the first two years of high school. Until 2019 a first phase sat in the schools led to a final; since 2020 there has been a single phase of seven problems, of which the best five count.
